After some time, the servant's body was discovered in the forest not far from the palace. There, after the autopsy, "Sansi" was also discovered; a faithful servant had eaten the stone to prevent the thieves from stealing it. "Sancy" was stolen during the French Revolution along with other valuable Versailles artifacts, and the Russian prince Nikolai Demidov bought the diamond in 1828. "Sancy" is currently on display in the Louvre, where it has been reunited with "Regent," another well-known diamond from Versailles.
