Due to their pigmentation, raccoons resemble a group of criminals. They untangle insects from thick spider webs, effortlessly break open shells, remove snails from their shells or ant larvae from the ground, and plunder nests, especially of wasps, bumblebees, termites and ants, mostly for the larvae. Their thick fur provides reliable protection from aggressive stinging insects, so they are not afraid of their stings.
